Self

My name is Savannah, I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am the only child but I have a big family with lots of Aunties, Uncles, and Cousins. Growing up wasn’t always easy but my parents and family always looked out for me and made everything my little heart desired come true.

I have one cat named Charm and one dog but i could find a picture of him. Growing up I always had a love for animals no matter the shape or size.

My Favorite Foods are Sea Food and Sushi. My favorite sea food is Crab legs, Lobster, Shrimp, but there is many more I want to try. My favorite type of Sushi is the ones with crab in it, nothing with raw fish.

If you didn’t know now you know my favorite color is pink. but not just any pink it have to be baby pink or light pink. I didn’t always love pink but I grow to love this color.

Family

Growing up my mom was a Nurse, and my dad was a mechanic, worked on houses. I always grew up seeing my family and being around my cousins. As you can see in the pictures below I was always with my family and this isn’t even all of them. A lot of people don’t know this about me but i do have a half brother on my dads side that I haven’t seen sense I was 7 years old. Most of the time when people ask I always say I’m the only child

Highschool Experience

My Highschool experience was like a roller coaster. High school was way more different then what I thought it was going to be like and if i could do it differently I would and make smarter decisions. I really don’t even like school but my favorite subject in school would have had to been Black Ledger because I learned a lot about my culture, history, and about strong black people that made a difference in this world. Black Ledger is a writing class for everyone to join. A definition of a good teacher would be a teacher that is hard on you to do you work but in a fun way, a teacher that treats all her student the same no matter what the color of their skin is, and a teacher that is fun to be around not stuck up. And my favorite teacher at my school was Ms. T because in my teacher definition she was all of the above.

Hobbies & Talents

This is an old hobby but I used to do all the time, which is gymnastics. Gymnastics is “exercises developing or displaying physical agility and coordination.” according to what google says. I used to enjoy gymnastics because it was like you were flying and free. Gymnastics made me feel like I could do anything I put my mind to. I did gymnastics for about 5 years, and I still do it from time to time now but not as much as I did when I was younger. I do want to keep some of me flexibility for a life a lifetime.

At Gymnastics Class <3

I started this hobby/talent when I was in the 3rd grade. When I saw girls on the playground doing flips, I wanted to do flips like them. so I went home and watched a lot of YouTube videos on what I wanted to learn first and got to work. I don’t think I will go back to doing gymnastics, but I do want to go back into cheer or dance. I only did cheer/dance for 1 year in middle school and 1 in a half years in high school and I do see me becoming a cheerleader in college just so I can still use my flexibility in the future.

My Hero

My hero is my mother, she is my hero because she is a hard worker and never gave up on me. She shows me how a hard-working women should be, to never give up no matter how hard times get and to always look out for the people you love. I have known my hero sense I was born. My mom and I have connected because we always have talks about real life things and how the world really is and that not everything comes to you, and I love that she doesn’t sugar code anything.

The greatest lesson my hero taught me was to never give up, to work hard, to always find a way no matter how hard times get, to be aware, and not everyone is your friend. The qualities I will take from my hero would be everything she has ever told me because everything has meaning. Through my life I will teach others the same. If I could say one speech to my mother or hero would say thank you for everything and always being there for me.

Guest Speaker Takeaways

Jewon Dyson

My take away from Jewon Dyson or JD was to be your own person or it could led you down the wrong path and you could end up in a place you don’t wanna be. Another thing I learned from him is no matter how hard your life is you can always change it for the better.

Keosha Rivers

My take away from Keosha Rivers was even if your life goes down the wrong way you can always put your life back on track if you work hard and stay focus.

Efueko Landry

My take away from Efueko Landry was even if you have to make sacrifices for the ones you love and work 10 times harder to make your dream come true it will work out in the end.
